Laser Paint & Coating Removal in the DC Area

Strip it without wrecking what's underneath.

We strip paint, powder coat, primers, sealers, and many industrial coatings with a controlled laser beam. Removal happens layer by layer, so we can take a part to bare metal or stop at a specific layer, without chemical strippers or blasting media.

Coatings we remove

  • Automotive paint, clear coat, and primer
  • Powder coat on wheels, frames, brackets, and furniture
  • Industrial enamel and epoxy coatings on equipment
  • Mill scale and oxide films
  • Oil, grease, and baked-on residue
  • Sealers and some adhesives

Why laser instead of chemical strippers or blasting?

Chemical strippers are messy, slow on multi-layer coatings, and leave hazardous waste you have to neutralize and dispose of. Blasting is fast on big open areas but throws media everywhere, can warp thin panels, and needs heavy masking. Laser stripping is dry and precise, and the cleanup is minimal. That makes it a strong fit for restoration parts, assembled equipment, and work inside an active shop.

Selective removal

Because the laser removes material in thin passes, we can do things abrasive methods can't. We can clean a single weld seam, strip a logo area, remove coating from a mating surface, or take paint off one panel while leaving the next one untouched.

A note on lead paint and hazardous coatings

Older structures and equipment may have lead-based or other hazardous coatings. Removing them is regulated and requires the right controls. Let us know the age and history of the item, and we'll evaluate before any work starts. If testing is needed, we'll tell you upfront.

Paint & Coating Removal FAQ

Can laser cleaning remove powder coat?

Yes. Powder coat removes well with laser cleaning, though thick coats take more passes than paint. It's a common job for wheels, frames, and brackets.

Will it remove paint from aluminum or thin panels?

Yes, with the right settings. Laser stripping doesn't impact the panel the way media blasting does, which helps avoid warping. We always test first on aluminum and thin-gauge parts.

Can you remove paint from wood or stone?

Many surfaces besides metal can be laser cleaned, but results vary by material. Contact us with details and we'll tell you whether it's a good fit.

Do you remove lead paint?

Lead-containing coatings require special handling and compliance steps. Tell us about the item first and we'll advise on testing and next steps before any work is done.
